Farnham, taken from Farnham Park, lunchtime 12 January 2010
Avenue of lime trees, Farnham Park. Planted about 40 years ago to replace an older avenue of elms, which sadly succumbed to dutch elm disease.
these shoes have been hanging on this wire 20 feet above the high street in Farnham for at least 2 weeks.
Edit 15 October 2008: they are still there, looking very sad and weather-beaten. All the colour has gone, they are just grey.
This somehow seems appropriate for a rainy day in January: vandals had thrown this bicycle into the river Wey in Farnham (photo taken 10 June 2007)
Farnham is about 30 miles from the sea, and yet this extravagant weather vane sits atop the old market hall.
