My book suggests that these are caterpillars of the buff tip moth.

Today I have been playing with 47 mm of extension tubes and a Raynox 250 macro lens, all on my 40-150 zoom lens at 150mm.
This is the ‘A’ strings on my mandolin, with one of the abolone fret markers. The strings are 2mm apart, and about 4mm above the fretboard!
