red fungi

18 March 202317 March 2023Posted in forest of bere, fungi, lens: 14-42mm, Olympus EM10

These red fungi caught my eye when I was out walking our dog. They were almost glowing.

I didn’t have a camera with me, so I put one in my pocket and went back the next day.

Beech trees

In the Forest of Bere this morning. I was trying to catch the mood on a grey and rainy morning.

This particular location in the woods always reminds me of a cathedral, particularly when the leaves are fresh and the sun is shining through.

This spot amongst the tall beech trees is one of my very favourite places in the Forest of Bere. It reminds me of being inside a cathedral.

Another experiment in black and white. After converting to b&w, I heightened the yellow and green tones to bring out the fresh green leaves, which always look like jewels in Spring. I then overlaid a texture – a grainy image of a roughly whitewashed wall, opacity reduced to 20%.
