A quick experiment, both in taking the image and processing it.
Another experiment in black and white. After converting to b&w, I heightened the yellow and green tones to bring out the fresh green leaves, which always look like jewels in Spring. I then overlaid a texture – a grainy image of a roughly whitewashed wall, opacity reduced to 20%.
Looking up at balconies, Canary Wharf. Image taken in September 2019. In processing, I cropped the original image, erased a few marks, converted it to black and white and then lifted the cyan to give the little bit of colour.
I took this photograph in 2006, and have just spent time giving it an abstract treatment.
This is actually a test shot for a project I am working on. I have a picture in mind, and I was just playing with angles. I will also experiment with lighting and the positioning of flashguns before I am ready to take the final image. The photo I have in mind will have a background free of distractions. I do have a title in mind – chess enthusiasts may guess from the position of the pieces – but I am not going to use it until I am ready.
