This week’s challenge has been to take a high key overexposed black and white photograph. Here in the south of England we get snow rarely – some years not at all. So when I woke up earlier this week to find we had a light snowfall overnight, I knew that I had to get out and take my photograph for this week’s challenge. These are some white crocuses in our back garden.
The assignment in week 9 was a simple one – to produce a square photograph. I treated this assignment very much as an exercise in composition, knowing that the resulting image would be square. I concentrated on positioning the pepper in the left of the frame, and cropped the right. I increased saturation and luminance on the yellow (a lot) and the green (a bit).
This year I am taking part in a 52 week photo challenge. I have already posted 2 photographs taken for earlier challenges – The Queen’s Gambit and Portsmouth at Night. The challenge in week 8 was to use a bit of Photoshop trickery to create a mirror image.
I had fun with this! It required very careful positioning of the camera.
